WHAT CAN BE IMPORTED BY COURIER
Products with or without commercial purpose up to $ 3,000.
» Individuals:
– No currency hedging or remittance limit per year
– Unaccompanied baggage with reduced taxes (50% tax)
import duty free of ICMS)
– Goods for personal use and consumption are not taxed, ie clothing and footwear
used books, documents, periodicals, among others
” Legal person:
– With or without exchange coverage;
– No import limit per year. (for own consumption)
– Sum of imports made by the same company may not exceed
$ 100,000 per calendar year (for resale)
» Government Companies:
– No limit on declared value or remittances per year
– Exempt from import duties and taxes
» Import Duty and Tax Immunity Products:
– Books, periodicals and newspapers
– Musical phonograms and videophonograms produced in Brazil and containing
pieces by Brazilian artists or general pieces
» Duty Free and Import Tax Products:
– Samples of goods without commercial value (clearly indicate in the Commercial Invoice that

Foods, Supplements, Vitamins and Some Beauty Products – Restricted

– Equipment doctors like stethoscope, boto, spatulas, etc. – Forbidden
– Guns, Tobacco and Alcohol – Forbidden
IMPORTER’S REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
– Name or Company Name of importer
CPF or CNPJ of the natural or legal person importing
– Complete address with zip code in Brazil
– Contact phone and email
Lack of CNPJ or CPF prevents the release of the shipment, which will be returned to the origin.
TAXES
» Import Tax: 60% of Customs Value;
» ICMS: on average 18%, varying by state;
CUSTOMS PROCESS
» You do not need to hire a dispatcher or have RADAR qualification as Prime

WEIGHTS AND DIMENSIONS AND ENVELOPES
Maximum dimensions W x W x H per piece: 116cm x 91cm x 91cm
Maximum weight per piece: 68Kg
Maximum dimensional weight: 200Kg / m3 and 1 / 5000m3
W x W x H = Length x Width x Height in centimeters
How to determine the weight to be billed:
Actual Weight: is the weight of the package, rounding to the kilogram
immediately higher, eg 2.65kg = 3.0Kg
Dimensional Weight: is the multiplication in centimeters of measurements of
length, width and height rounding to the whole centimeter
upper divided by 5000, always round the fractions to the kilogram
nearest superior;
Example: (C x L x A)/5000
Compare actual weight with dimensional weight if the dimensional weight is
larger than the actual amount, the excess portion will be billed at a flat rate of US $
6.50 per dimensional kilogram exceeding
ex: real weight = 2kg and dimensional weight = 3kg; the first two Kg will be
billed according to freight table and the third Kg is charged over US $ 6.50
Envelopes: Weigh no more than 250 grams and have special rate of
$ 18.00 for the South, Southeast, Midwest and Northeast capitals and $
25.00 for the northern capitals and all interiors of the other states of the
country.
